L'AV - 590 permette a due radio di comunicazione di condividere la stessa antenna . In modo nominale l'AV - 590 divide il segnale dell'antenna equamente tra due ricevitori radio Comm . Quando la tensione di controllo è attivata dal microfono PTT , l' AV - 590 commuta l'antenna al corrispondente trasmettitore radio e isola l' altro ricevitore .

The AV-590 allows two communications radios to share the same antenna.  In the nominal, non-switched mode the AV-590 splits the signal from the antenna evenly between two comm radio receivers.   When the control voltage is activated by the microphone PTT, the AV-590 switches the antenna to the corresponding radio transmitter and isolates the other receiver.
